A hugely influential musician, artist and activist, John Lennon’s cultural legacy still burns bright. Extremely short sighted, he wore contact lenses until 1966, when he was asked to wear a pair of round ‘teashade’ glasses for his role as Private Gripweed in the Richard Lester film ‘How I Won the War’. From then on, they became part of his look. An early Western advocate of Feng Shui, Lennon favoured orange lenses, as the colour orange is believed to enhance creativity.
